Do I have to install the Chrome extension?
No. Open the web app at app.listr.site in any modern browser — Safari, Firefox, Edge, mobile — and you get the same Listr. The Chrome extension adds the right-click "Send to Listr" capture flow, but sync, collab, and exports are identical across both.
What’s the "Capabilities" thing?
Listr is modular. Instead of a fixed feature set, you pick capabilities — context-menu capture, kanban, team chat, calculator, currency converter, custom fields, AI organize, and more. Anything you don't add stays out of your way. Browse them inside the app or from the Capabilities section above.
Where is my data stored?
Listr is local-first — by default your data lives in your browser. If you sign in, we sync to Firebase under your account so you can use it on another device. Firestore security rules guarantee only you can read it.
How does Team Chat work?
Once you add the Team Chat capability, a Chat tab appears in your bottom nav. Direct-message anyone with a Listr account, or create a group. Share project links inline — recipients see live progress without leaving chat.
Can I use Listr without an account?
Absolutely. Install the extension or open the web app and start a project. Accounts are only needed for sync, sharing, and paid features.
How does billing work?
Listr is prepaid — pay once for a monthly or yearly period and access extends by that period. No auto-renewal. When it ends, you get a 3-day grace period to renew before reverting to Free.
What happens if I stop paying?
You keep all your data and every Free feature. Paid features lock until you renew. Nothing is deleted.
Does capturing text require permissions on every site?
Listr uses the standard context-menu API, so it works everywhere without broad site permissions. We don't read pages in the background.
